Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School students came within inches of tragedy when a driver pulled his semi out from the TPS truck stop and into the path of student Susan Penvose. Although the car was damaged, the driver and her passengers were unhurt but badly shaken. Tom Duggan, a first responder, arrived at the wreck to help, only to find his daughter Katie was one of the passengers.
