Kvalheim receives first ever Class of 1952 scholarship
Krystle Kvalheim (center), an honor graduate of the W-WCHS Class of 2007, received the Class of 1952 scholarship. The Washington High School Class of 1952 held its 55th year reunion at the Fitzpatrick Hotel May 19.
The class has established a fund which awards a scholarship to a deserving senior at Washington- Wilkes Comprehensive High School.
The first scholarship was awarded this year on May 17 to Krystle Kvalheim, a member of the WWCHS Class of 2007. The presentation was made by the Class of 1952 president, Jackie Garrett Price, at the awards dinner held at the high school.
The 1952 fund is administered by the Community Foundation for the Central Savannah River Area in Augusta. Tax deductible contributions may be made to The 1952 Fund, P.O. Box 31358, Augusta 30903.
During the reunion an anonymous contribution was made to the fund in memory of Billy Cofer who was a member of the 1952 Class and an enthusiastic supporter of the 1952 Fund.
