Joanna Delany (second from right) was joined by family and friends for her graduation ceremony in Columbia, S.C. Joanna Katherine Delany earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law on May 11.

The commencement ceremony was held in Columbia, S.C., outdoors at the Horseshoe on the University campus. Attending the ceremony and celebrating with Joanna were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Delany of Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gay, Jack and Jessica of Lawrenceville; and Ivan Haynes of Columbia, S.C..

While attending the law school, Joanna clerked for the Public Defender's office in Columbia and was a member of the Law School's Trial Advocacy Team. She will sit for the South Carolina Bar Exam in July.

Joanna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Delany of Washington and the granddaughter of Regina W. Blanchard of Martinez, and the late Lewis J. Blanchard; the late Helen K. Delany of San Diego, California, and the late L.E. Delany of Houston, Texas.
