W-W Parks and Recreation has fun summer planned for kids
      The Washington-Wilkes Parks and Recreation has an eventful summer planned for all children. The W-WPR Summer Playground has begun and will end on July 20. It is held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Reese Booker Center. Children will be able to learn life skills and participate in various activities. Free lunch and transportation are provided.

Alumni baseball game set Friday, June 22, at 7:30
      The annual Washington-Wilkes Tiger alumni baseball game will be played next Friday, June 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Field just off Ashley Avenue. All former Toger baseball players are invited to attend and play at this event. Tickets for the game will be $3 at the gate.

Area's Little League All-Star Tournament set to start June 29
      The Washington-Wilkes Little League will be the host for this year's All-Star Tournament for 11 and 12-year-old girls softball and 9 and 10-year-old baseball. Teams will be competing from Athens, Elberton, and Oglethorpe County, as well as Washington- Wilkes.
