We heard a good sermon Sunday at Ebenezer. Dr. Dupree's message was "Father to Father," taken from II Samuel 18:19-23. The fathers were honored with gifts -- oldest, youngest, father with the most children, and father with the most grandchildren, and youngest grandchild. It was fun. G.B. and I placed flowers in the church in memory of his dad, Mr. G.B. Sr., and in honor of my dad, Henry N. Wallace. The children's message was "Something to Guide Us." The Duprees reported a very nice vacation. .Happy birthday to all who are celebrating birthdays this week. Austin Mobley, Renee Hall, Tanner Barnett, Michael Barnett, and Richard Thomasson, are the ones I am aware of. .Jenna Newsome of Springfield, Va., visited her grandmother, Jenelle Newsome, during the weekend. She returned to Virginia Sunday. .Congratulations to Katie Shelton and Tucker Hardy who were married Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Katie is the daughter of John Jr. and Melissa Shelton, and Tucker is the son of Len and Joyce Hardy. They will make their home in Rayle. .Mr. and Mrs. Chris Standard, Mason, Peyton, and Hunter of Denim Springs, La., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard. Peyton returned home after spending a month with his father and brother. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Standard of Rayle also visited. .Tommy Dunnaway and Bobbi Thornton visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway during the week. .Cassie Goldman and Bryson spent Saturday with her mother, Deann Johnson, in Hull. They attended a baby shower for a friend. . Randy Goldman, Connie and Misty Johnson of Lincolnton, Ridge Moore of Rayle, Russell Goldman of Doraville, and Linda Standard were among visitors of Sara Huff Sunday. .I spent Thursday in Augusta visiting one of my doctors. .Rebecca Phillips of Conyers arrived Tuesday for a visit with her dad, Richard Phillips, and Mrs. Phillips. Her friends, Marley and Hannah Page, also came for a visit. Greg Phillips of North Augusta came up and all went to Thomson to celebrate an early Father's Day for Richard. They enjoyed dinner at Ryan's. .Chip Haynes spent Tuesday and Wednesday with the Phillipses. He was a little under the weather. His mother carried him to the doctor Thursday and found out he had strep throat. Feel better real soon, Chip. .We are sorry to report that Mrs. Florence Turpin Ingram is still a patient at the University Hospital. We wish a speedy recovery for her. .Mr. and Mrs. G.B. Newsome, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gaines, Trace and Tanner of Winterville, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Goff of McCormick, S.C., Shannon Thommason, Taylor McAvoy, and Wesley Butler, and Mr. and Mrs. Garnett Wallace all enjoyed Father's Day with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace in Lincoln County Sunday. .G.B. and I, Billy and Anniece Butler of Lincoln County were treated for an early Father's Day treat by Wes Butler and Shannon Thommason. We all enjoyed supper at Soap Creek Thursday night. .Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunnaway and Mr. and Mrs. Wade Dunnaway enjoyed several days at Hilton Head last week. Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Holt and girls were also vacationing there and visited the Dunnaways. .Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips went to Wrens Saturday and ate lunch at the Little Dutch House. .Mrs. Walter Tuttle and Mrs. Hill O'Neal enjoyed a trip to Thomson Saturday. They enjoyed lunch together. .Sincere love and sympathy to all who lost loved ones recently. .
