Funeral services for Louise Mattox Dunn, 100, of Rayle were held Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Johnson officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Monday, June 4, at Wills Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Dunn was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late George and Josie Mattox. She joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and in her later years began studying with Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include her husband of 78 years, Cornelius Dunn of Rayle; two daughters, Peccola Dunn Humphrey Williams and Niagara Dunn Scott Stephens; three sons, George Samuel Dunn, Willie Edward Dunn, and Clarence Oliver Dunn.

Pallbearers were Willie C. Dunn, Lorenzo B. Humphrey, William A. Humphrey, Johnny G. Scott, Steven Dunn, Larry Willis, and Clarence R. Dunn.

Davenport & McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
