Lindsay Burton of Gainesville was feted at a baby shower on Saturday afternoon, June 16, at the home of Emilie and Mark Waters on East Robert Toombs Avenue. Co-hostesses with Mrs. Waters were Kay Nelms, Joann Baldwin, Shirley Gunter, Sharon Williamson and Susan Pope.

In honor of the occasion Mrs. Burton was presented a corsage of blue baby socks and ribbon.

Mrs. Burton is making a scrapbook in anticipation of the "new arrival." A uniquely decorated page from the book was placed on a table the front hall for guests to sign.

The Waters home was festively decorated for the occasion. Both the front and back entrances featured wreaths sporting baby paraphernalia including bottles, rattles, booties and pacifiers.Throughout the house were arrangements of blue hydrangeas and gardenias. A vase in the living room where the guest of honor greeted guests and opened gifts, featured a Tropicana rose atop two gardenias and a blue hydrangea. Another area displayed a vase of daisies with delicate lavender flowers.

A delicious assortment of cake squares topped with blue booties, cheese straws, chocolate-covered créme de menthe confections, créme puffs, nuts, toasted pecans and fresh fruits was served from the dining table covered in white with an Army-Navy overlay. Centering the table was a hammered pewter trumpet vase of blue hydrangea with trailing variegated vinca. A table nearby was centered with a silver punch bowl encircled with blue hydrangeas. A refreshing lime sherbet punch was served.

The hostess gift, an angel blanket, was displayed with other gifts in the breakfast room on a table covered in blue and accented with a crocheted topper. Clustered hydrangeas and berries in a vintage slotted baby motif basket centered the table.

A special guest for the occasion was the prospective paternal grandmother, Patricia B. Burton. Later in the afternoon all were joined by the prospective father, Bonner Burton, and grandfather, Allen Burton.
