Glenda and Harris Blackmon and daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Wayne Hisaw of Martinez, returned June 5 from a two-week trip to the West Coast and Alaska.

The group flewinto Seattle on May 23 and headed out "doing" the three-day 400-mile North Cascades Loop staying in the Bavarianthemed town of Leavenworth on the first night and Sun Mountain Lodge about seven miles outside the old western town of Winthrop overlooking magnificentsnow-capped mountains in all directions on the second night.

They returned to Seattle on Friday afternoon in time to board their ship for a week's cruise of the inside passage which included ports of call, Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway in Alaska, and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada. They enjoyed many excursions and viewed lots of wildlife, noting that all their expectations of the beauty and splendor were highly surpassed. A highlight was seeing a glacier "calving."

They returned to Seattle on June 2 and spent the next three days in Seattle doing the "tourist" things especially enjoying the flowers at Pike's Place Market which they noted as incredible!
