Megan Smith honored at bridal brunch and shower on June 9

Megan Smith of Newtown, brideelect of Scott Kennedy of Washington, was honored at a brunch and miscellaneous shower on Saturday, June 9, at the Newtown home of her aunt, Mrs. Gary Rogers. Hosting with Mrs. Rogers were Mrs. Mike Smith, also the bride-elect's aunt, and April Smith, her cousin.

For the occasion Miss Smith wore a strapless white sundress. She was presented a corsage of yellow daisies by the hostesses.

Daisies, spring flowers and greenery arranged in a large mixing bowl accented with kitchen utensils decorated the buffet table covered with a Battenburg cloth.

Guests enjoyed a delicious brunch of fruit, mini-ham biscuits, sausage balls, Honey Bun Cake, and miniature cinnamon rolls. Coffee, tea and juice were also served.

Miss Smith received the mixing bowls and kitchen utensil arrangement and a monogrammed pitcher and four mugs from her hostesses.

Attending from the bride-elect's family were her mother, Mrs. Marty Smith; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Bill Smith of Newtown; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Charles Gosnell of Anderson, S.C.; and greatgrandmother, Mrs. Boyd Bridges of Hartwell. Also among the 38 guests were the prospective bridegroom's mother, Mrs. B.C. Kennedy; grandmother, Mrs. Charles Saggus; and great-grandmother, Mrs. Claude Strother, all of Washington.
