      Lincoln and McCormick Counties invite the public to bring their boat, lawn chairs, American pride, and enjoy the 6th annual Thunder Over Thurmond Fireworks on Saturday, July 7. The fireworks display on Lake Thurmond will begin at 9:30 p.m. over the 378 bridge between Lincoln and McCormick Counties.

Robin Carter gets assistance from USDA office; dream home will be complete later this month
      Robin Carter recently approached the USDA Rural Development Officeto request assistance in finding a home for her family. Her application was selected for processing and having met all of the requirements for assistance under the 502 loan program, she was deemed qualified for assistance. The Carter family is the featured homeowner for homeownership month.

'Community craft nights' held Tuesdays at The Ark, 6-8 p.m.
      Under the leadership of Amy Johnston, the First Baptist Church is planning a series of community craft nights for the next several weeks. Craft nights will be held, at the present, on Tuesdays at The Ark across the street from the church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

      Many friends attended the going away party for Rev. and Mrs. James Bland Saturday, June 23, held at the Georgia Baptist Association Mission Center on Jefferson Street in Washington and sponsored by the WMU. Rev. Bland was presented a beautiful plaque expressing thanks for his service as director of missions and was given a love offering from churches in the Association.
