Many friends attended the going away party for Rev. and Mrs. James Bland Saturday, June 23, held at the Georgia Baptist Association Mission Center on Jefferson Street in Washington and sponsored by the WMU. Rev. Bland was presented a beautiful plaque expressing thanks for his service as director of missions and was given a love offering from churches in the Association. We are sorry they are leaving and will miss them very much. We wish them the very best in the future. .Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer went to St. Mary's Hospital in Athens Wednesday to see his cousin, Mrs. Katie Goolsby, who was in an automobile accident several weeks ago. Her back and spinal cord were broken. She was in ICU two weeks. We hope she will feel better soon. .After leaving Athens we visited Mrs. Dot Seagraves in Hull; Mrs. Sue Harwell McCarty in Danielsville; Mrs. Sidney Ann Stoyles in Comer Health Care; and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Spinks in Carlton. .Little Madison Kay of Sharon spent Monday with Mrs. Ricky McCarty. .I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July.
