Dorminy is valedictorian at McIntosh County Academy

Josh Dorminy of Darien, Georgia, was named valedictorian for the McIntosh County Academy class of 2007. He delivered the Valedictory address for his class in the graduation ceremony on May 25.

Josh is theson of Rick and Jac Dorminy of Darien and the Grandson of Fred and June Dorminy of Thomasville, Georgia. Rick Dorminy is a 1981graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School and is an assistant principal and football coach at McIntosh County Academy. Fred Dorminy is a former Wilkes County Superintendent of Schools.

Josh is the second of the Dorminy family to earn Valedictory honors. His sister, Sarah, was the valedictorian of the class of 2006.

During Josh's high school career, he was a member of the football team, golf team, Beta club, National Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has earned awards in math, science, and social studies as well as being a captain of the MCA football team. He was also selected MVP on the golf team.

Josh will attend Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, next year on a football and academic scholarship. He plans on majoring in education and would like to teach and coach in the future.
