Griffin descendants gather for family reunion at Burdette Cabin

Descendants of the late James Herbert (Jim) and Wade Hampton Griffin gathered for a family reunion at the Burdette Cabin in Washington on Saturday, June 23.

A delicious "Southern Barbecue" cooked by Ed (Boo) Burdette and Bill Burdette, was enjoyed by all along with potato salad, slaw, pickles, tomatoes, peach cobbler, homemade cakes and a variety of other desserts.

An updated family directory was given to each grandchild of Jim and Wade Griffin.

Attending from the Jim Griffin family were Arnold and Kitty Blackmon of Charleston, S.C.; Elaine and Robin Collins of Shelter Island Heights, N.Y.; Dianne Agricola of Grants Pass, Ore.; and Luke Weaver of Jackson. Family members Carol Lunceford Weaver of Jackson, and Janet and Mort Hill of Alamo, arrived for the event but became acutely ill and were unable to join the family.
