Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mann, Andie and Caitlin for the beautiful flowers placed in Phillips Mill Baptist Church Sunday in memory of his mother, Mary Louise McAvoy Mann. .Phillips Mill Baptist Church is proud of all our new members in recent months, of all ages. Some came for baptism and some by transfer of letter from another Baptist Church. We hope each one will feel welcome to take part. Going to church is kinda like going to school or your job. The more you put into study and faithfulness, the more you get out of it. .Churches of the Georgia Baptist Association, don't forget "Christmas In August" get-together this Saturday morning at the Mission Center at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided for churches taking part in our mission project of collecting school supplies and other useful items for Meansville Children's Home. We look forward to perhaps having a group from the home to be with us. Thanks to all who have taken part. Churches of the Association working together have been very successful over the years and it's greatly appreciation. Please feel welcome. .I would like to wish several special members of Phillips Mill who will both be having a birthday this Sunday, a happy birthday August 26. Mrs. Mary Nell Taylor Denard will be 94. Mrs. Henrietta Rice Lunceford will be 67. Coming up on Tuesday, August 28, Morrison and I will be married 52 years. The next day I will be 72. A happy birthday to Amanda McAvoy on Wednesday, August 29. Amanda, I believe I hear wedding bells. So happy for you. .Belated happy birthday wishes to Mrs. Lois McAvoy Hardy who was 88 last week. Her family treated her Sunday, August 19, with a birthday celebration at the Fitzpatrick Hotel. Carrol and Gloria Hardy of Phillips Mill and Mrs. Beatrice McAvoy and daughter Gail were among relatives enjoying the nice lunch and fellowship. Mrs. Hardy's husband, the late Irvin Hardy, helped build a number of houses in the area, including ours. .Dorothy Ann and Jimmy Saxon and their daughter, Donna Hudson, spent Sunday afternoon with Dan and Mildred McAvoy. Other recent visitors were Thomas McAvoy, Mary Hawes, and Henry McAvoy. .Remember. God loves you.
