Bishop Jonathan Greer II to be guest minister for Transforming Life Ministries anniversary
Evangelist and Pastor Amethyst Daffodil Wynn will celebrate her birthday and pastoral appreciation during the 14th anniversary of Transforming Life Ministries on Sunday, September 16, 3:30 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Center, 219 McLendon Drive, in Washington.
Bishop Jonathan Greer II and the Cathedral of Divine Love Family will be the special guest minister and church for the day. Bishop Greer is the founder and pastor of Cathedral of Divine Love Church; founder and CEO of the United in Christ Fellowship and the Showers of Blessings Ministry, all based in Atlanta. He has been pastor to Miss Wynn since July 1982.
"Bishop Greer has been a dynamic, spiritual and inspirational leader, and a God-anointed preacher and prophet for more than 30 years," Wynn said. "He is multi-talented, an author, lecturer, musician, and entrepreneur."
The bishop formerly pastored Cathedral of Faith, Church of God in Christ for 21 years. During his career, he has founded three churches, implemented an annual international mission and initiated numerous ministries to support the needs of African-Americans and others throughout the United States, Haiti, and Sub-Sahara, Africa.
Other special guests for the event will be the stellar Bishop Dante Smith, pastor of the Booker's Chapel Baptist Church, who will be serving as Master of Ceremonies; the new Washington-Wilkes contemporary gospel singers, PURPOSE; and special guest soloist, the anointed Evangelist Kathy Butler of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church.
Transforming Life Ministries (TLM) was established as a result of the call of God for Wynn to begin ministering in the Washington- Wilkes area. TLM is based on the Word of God in Romans 12:2: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Wynn began TLM on the third Sunday in March 1993. The initial TLM "Gospel Explosion" worship service was held on the fourth Sunday in September 1993. Wynn was licensed as an evangelist in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in 1991 and was ordained in 1999. Bishop Greer conducted her pastoral anointing service, bestowing upon her the title of "Pastor" in 2002.
A formal celebratory dinner will be served and the public is invited to attend.
