UGA Extension sets healthy cooking, food prep sessions

The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension will present "Cooking for a Lifetime School Special Edition" on October 9 and 16 at the McGill-Woodruff Center in Washington. The sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. and are free to interested persons.

Each two-hour session will teach your risk of cancer and other diseases. Patricia Wilder is the celebrity cook for the special edition.

Pre-registration is a must and must be made by Monday, October 8, by calling 706-678-2332. Space is limited.

The participants will learn to prepare delicious meals and snacks to lower risk of cancer and other diseases; learn to select foods that may lower cancer risk; learn how to fix food with less fat and sodium and more fiber; and learn how to choose healthy foods from the grocery store.
