Sunday School Union convenes at Young Chapel
The Wilkes County Sunday School Union convened with the Young Chapel Baptist Church where Rev. Robert Walton served as host pastor and D.W. Dunn served as host superintendent.
October The session was opened by President Jamie Johnson and the devotional was led by Eddie Bankston and Eddie Finnell.
Singing was by the congregation. The sermon was preached by Rev Robert Walton and was titled "Set Your House In Order." Rev. Walton
led the benediction.
The Saturday session was opened
October by President Johnson. Willie Hampton and D.W. Dunn led the devotional service. Thomas Booker was
the youth devotional leader.
The welcome was presented by
2007 Taylor Pope. The 45 minute Bible lesson was taught by Kay Finnell. Melba Hill was the youth teacher.
During the business session announcement
was made that the annual Elberton, GA
Year! picnic will be held October 6 at the Reese J. Booker Playground from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Union's anniversary celebration will be held October 7 at 4 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Carnival The doctrinal sermon was
preached by Rev. Dwight Foster
Rides & and was titled "Time to Get Up and
Do Something."
Games by
During the youth session, David
Taylor presided as president and
Family Jasmine Dillard as secretary. The
inspirational address was given by Jasmine Dillard and titled "A Heart That God Can Use."
The Bible Bowl was led by Rev. Ed Anderson and the benediction was by Rev. Robert Walton.
The Sunday morning session was opened by President Johnson and devotional services were led by D.W. Dunn and Larry Smith. Willie Wingfieldpresided as Sunday School superintendent. The inspirational address was presented by Nellie Kennedy and titled "The Seven UPs of Inspiration."
Singing was by the congregation. The missionary sermon was delivered by Rev. James White Jr. and titled "Bread." Rev. White led the benediction.
The next Union session will convene December 28-30 at Trinity Baptist Church..
Other officersof the Union besides Jamie Johnson as president are Larry Smith, vice-president; Robin Booker, secretary; Melvene Binns, assistant secretary; and Robert Walton, treasurer.
