Congratulations and best wishes to Andrea Chasity Moody, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mann, and Marcus Walton Bridges, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Bridges, who were united in marriage Saturday afternoon, October 13, at historic Phillips Mill Baptist Church, by Rev. Dale Fincher, pastor of the Tignall Baptist Church. It was a very sweet and meaningful service. each person present, which was a house full of relatives and friends, were added flowers to the fall garden scene around the stained glass window of Jesus standing with his arm out, welcoming everyone. Thanks to all who attended and had a part in any way. A few of the decorations were left throughout the church building for others to see and enjoy Sunday.
There was a beautiful flower arrangement placed at the altar Sunday at Phillips Mill in memory of Don Saggus by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Moore, Joshua and Caleb Saggus.
Mrs. Virginia Stevens Hunter was treated to a nice cookout Sunday after church in Lincoln County at the home of her daughter Marcia, and son-in-law, Perry Kirkland, and their daughter Kimber who is a senior this year in high school. The dinner was in honor of her 73rd birthday which was Friday, October 12. Joining them were Perry's mother, Hazel Kirkland; Virginia's sister, Helen Lamar, son John Hunter and grandchildren, Tara and Ron Johnson, Tristan, Tyler and Brittian; Tara's sister, Mandy Keller, and her daughter Cheyenne.
A reminder to all churches of the Georgia Baptist Association and interested friends, of the 223rd annual fall meeting to be held at County Line Baptist Church this coming Tuesday, October 23, beginning at 10 a.m. and going until 4 p.m. Rev. Wayne Usry is pastor. .
Two special ladies of Bethesda Baptist Church near Union Point who both grew up in Wilkes County are celebrating their 94th birthday next week. Miriam Poss (Mrs. Malcolm) Durham on Wednesday, October 24; and Edith Davis (Mrs. Hinton) Sherrer on Saturday, October 27. Both husbands are dead, but all of their children and grandchildren are still living and very caring. So happy birthday to both.
PenfieldChristian Home's 28th annual meeting is coming up Saturday, November 3, and Daylight Saving Time ends that night.
Among visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Dan McAvoy and Jerry McAvoy have been their daughter, Dorothy Ann Saxon, Thomas McAvoy, his daughter Mary Donna and boys.
Lee Maxwell of Atlanta spent Monday night of last week with his parents, Morrison and Priscilla, and carried his mother to her heart doctor and another specialist on Tuesday in Athens. I was thrilled to be among many who attended the Moody-Bridges wedding on Saturday. God is so good. Thanks for your prayers.
