W-WMS introduces new teachers, thanks community for support of sale
This year W-WMS is proud to introduce its newest staff members. They are Terri Hammond, Amethyst Wynn, Sandra Standard, Cory Evans, and Laurie Dehil. Our Paw Print staff has interviewed them and they were willing to answer our questions.
Mrs. Terri Hammond moved from Athens, Ga., and presently lives in Crawford with her husband and kids. Mrs. Hammond is our girl's physical education teacher. She enjoys all sports and loves the Georgia Bulldogs.
Miss Amethyst Wynn is our middle school graduation coach. She enjoys encouraging children to do their best in school and getting parents involved in their child's education. Before coming to W-WMS she worked as the JUMP coordinator for the Wilkes County Community Partnership.
Mrs. Sandra Standard is our eighth grade inclusion teacher. She enjoys watching her students grow academically throughout the school year. Outside of work, she likes to read and cross-stitch.
Mr. Cory Evans is our seventh grade inclusion teacher. He has lived in Thomson most of his life, and before teaching, he was a company auditor. He likes the daily interaction with the students and their eagerness to learn. In his spare time, he likes to golf and fish.
Mrs. Laurie Dehil is our sixth grade inclusion teacher. She was born and raised in Harlem, Ga., but moved to Washington about six years ago. She enjoys seeing her students excel in their academics and enjoys teaching math and language arts. Outside of teaching, she enjoys reading, scuba diving, hunting, and working on her cattle farm.
The W-WMS faculty, staff, and students would like to thank everyone in the community who helped to make our cookie dough fundraiser a success. We appreciate all those who helped our students sell the cookie dough and all those who purchased it from our students. When we all work together as one, we can achieve anything. We would also like to thank everyone who has supported us by eating at Pizza Hut on Tuesday night. For those of you who do not know, each Tuesday night from 5:30-8 p.m., 20 percent of your total purchase will be donated to W-WMS when customers present the middle school fund-raiser voucher. If you need a voucher feel free to stop by the middle school officeand pick one up or ask any of our students. This offer is valid on all dine-in, carry-out, and delivery orders placed on Tuesday nights during the month of October. Thank you Pizza Hut for your awesome support!
