Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mrs. John Sutherland visited Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford and their grandchildren, Zane and Maddie, who were spending several days while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bradford, made a trip to Florida. They came back to Washington Saturday and on Sunday they returned to their home in Greenville, Alabama.

Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance went to Augusta Saturday morning to see his sister, Sara Dees, a patient in the Medical College of Georgia hospital. She was somewhat better and had hopes of coming home this week.

Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer joined a group of friends and relatives at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Cox near Tignall for a surprise birthday celebration for Rev. Mike Stein, pastor of the Wilkes County Baptist Church, Friday night. When he and his family arrived he was greeted by everyone sing "Happy Birthday." After a delicious supper, a beautiful cake was enjoyed by all.

Mr. and Mrs. JAmes Sherer attended the fall festival at the Wilkes County Baptist Church Saturday afternoon. It was a fun time, especially for the children. There was a large slide to play on and a dunking booth where Rev. Stein sat. He was a good sport as he was dunked many times. There was a cakewalk and even I won twice. After the funtime, hotdogs and other good things to eat and a hayride were enjoyed.

After attending worship services at First Baptist Church with Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance, James Lance and Keeley Sarringer and the Lances had lunch together at the Fitzpatrick Hotel.
