Graveside services for Barner Paul Gartrell, 83, were held Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at Black Rock AME Church, Tignall. He died Friday, October 19. Mr. Gartrell was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late George Green and he late Rosa Wellmaker Gartrell. He was a member of Black Rock AME Church where he had served as a trustee.
