Graveside services for Roy Thomas Hilley, 85, of Washington Road, Lexington, were held Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at the Wynne- Thaxton Cemetery in Oglethorpe County. He died Monday, October 15, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta.

Mr. Hilley was the son of the late James Edgar Hilley and Agnes Holloway Hilley. He was an auto mechanic and was a medic in the United States Army in World War II in the European Theater. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include is wife, Betty Jean Arnold Hilley of Lexington; three sons, Roy T. Hilley Jr., David N. Hilley, and Billy G. Hilley, all of Lexington; fivegrandchildren; and fivegreat-grandchildren.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
