Frosh and sophs win Powder Puff game 12-0
      Last Thursday night, the WWCHS student council sponsored the first annual Washington-Wilkes powder puff game. The game pitted the girls of the junior and senior classes against the girls of the freshmen and sophomore classes. The game was close until the very end, with the underclassmen coming out on top 12-0.

      Following a week of and some much-needed healing and recovery time, the Washington-Wilkes Tigers will return to action this Friday night when they host the Tigers of Greene County in the final regular region game of the season. A win for the W-W Tigers will earn them a No.

      The confusing playoff system for Region 8AA is too much trouble for anyone to have to understand but after getting explanations from at least three sources, The News-Reporter, may have it figured out enough to give its readers a pretty good idea of where the Washington-Wilkes Tigers might be headed over the next three weeks.

Cross Country Tigers finish regular season, prepare for region
      On Saturday, October 27, the Washington Wilkes Tiger Cross Country team traveled to Oglethorpe County to compete against runners from Rabun County, East Jackson, Oglethorpe County, and Banks County schools in the last meet before the region meet next week. Seventy varsity boys ran the 3.1 mile course with Ian Coe placing first with a time of 18:17.
