Shelby Childers, RN, will be the speaker for the Wills Memorial Hospital's Tea and Learn on Thursday, November 15. The event will be held in the hospital cafeteria at 2:30 p.m.

Childers is manage of surgical services at the hospital and his topic for discussion will be alcohol and drug addiction. The discussion will include interventions as well as treatment options.

Childers came to Wills Memorial Hospital in May 2006. Prior to this he had been Director of Nursing at Focus-By-The-Sea, a private psychiatric hospital on St. Simons Island. Both adults and children can receive treatment for psychiatric problems as well as alcohol and drug addition at the hospital. He worked for the hospital for more than fiveyears.

Childers lived on St. Simons Island for 50 years. He received a bachelor's degree in anthropology

from the University of Georgia in

1974. In 1985 after finishing nursing .. school he began a career in healthcare as a registered nurse. He and his wife Renee live in Sharon.
