Inaugural 'Christmas Tree of Love' to begin with ceremony downtown on November 20
The Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is sponsoring its first annual Christmas Tree of Love this month. "We're starting a new tradition," says Pat Niemann on behalf of the Auxiliary.
Members of the Auxiliary will gather on The Square on Tuesday, November 20, during the Downtown Candlelight Shopping to hold a special ceremony to light the evergreen tree in front of the Courthouse. The brightly colored lights will serve as a symbolic tribute to those who are honored or memorialized.
A donation of $5.00 will buy a light in honor of or in memory of loved ones, friends, and family. The name will be inscribed in the Book of Love and also commemorated in The News-Reporter during the holiday season. The Book of Love will be displayed in the lobby at Wills Memorial Hospital.
Proceeds from this project will help fund necessary equipment for Wills Memorial Hospital. The donation is tax deductible and will be greatly appreciated.
The Auxiliary is asking that donations be made by November 19 for the lighting ceremony. Donations received by December 24 will be included in The News-Reporter.
The lighting ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
Printed below is a donation form which can be filled out, accompanied by a donation, and mailed to WMH Auxiliary, 120 Gordon Street, Washington 30673.
