James Callaway, transportation director for Wilkes County Schools, showed the Washington Rotary Club a video dramatization of how a school bus hijacking might take place and what steps can be taken to prevent a hijacking and to handle one if it does occur. He said that Wilkes County buses are equipped with radios for constant communication and that GPS will begin to be used in the nation's school buses as it becomes more affordable. Rotary President Paula George was the program host.
