The children's choir of Phillips Mill Baptist Church was treated to a trip to Louisville Saturday afternoon to attend the corn maze. Bes Moore, music director, drove the church van. Mary Jane Scarborough, one of the mothers, went with them. They all had a fun afternoon, stopping in Thomson on their way home for supper. .Robert Troskie, one of the new counselors at Penfield Christian Home, filled the pulpit at Phillips Mill Baptist Church Sunday, November 4, in the absence of the pastor, Robert Rayner, who along with his wife Nancy was on vacation in Texas. They had to cut their visit a few days short and flyback because of her health. We are glad they had a safe trip and hope Mrs. Rayner will soon be much better. They have been at Phillips Mill four years this month. .There was a beautiful flower arrangement at Phillips Mill Sunday, placed by Charles, Charlotte, Mahlory, and Brandon Waller in memory of Charlotte's father, Clemon Thigpen, and in honor of her mother, Waistel Thigpen. .Happy birthday to Rev. Brian George, pastor of Carter's Grove Baptist Church, on Thursday, November 8. Sunday, November 4, he had been pastor at Carter's Grove for one year. A covered dish meal was enjoyed after the morning worship service. They have Sunday School every Sunday morning and preaching every first and third Sunday morning. Your support is appreciated. Please feel welcome to attend. .Phillips Mill Baptist Church plans its annual Thanksgiving meal on Sunday night, November 18, at 6 p.m. For more information please contact Charlotte Waller, church hostess. .Phillips Mill Baptist Church offers something for the whole family. Sunday School is at 10 a.m. and morning worship every Sunday at 11:00. On second and fourth Sunday morning, children's church is at 11:00. Evening worship service is every Sunday at 6 p.m. and children's choir practice is at 6:00. Adult choir practice is 7 p.m., following the evening service. Wednesday night is Bible study for adults, youth, and children. Youth are now meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays for those who would like help with homework, eat supper, and play games before Bible study. The WMU meets the last Tuesday night each month. A nursery is provided on Sunday morning. .Remember, God loves you.
