Iris Garden Club helps Angel Tree
Iris Garden Club members Gail Boyd and Marion Thorpe, with club President Karen Stubbs (standing), work on making special Christmas treat bags for children being served by the 2007 Community Angel Tree Project. Decorative Christmas bags were filled with candy, crayons and other child-friendly items. The bags wills be included in the gift and food boxes for the Angel Tree children. "Angels" are available for selection from the Christmas tree located in the entry hall of the First United Methodist Church on Spring Street. All gifts should be returned to the church on or before Monday, Dec. 3 so that they can be delivered in time for Christmas. "Please consider selecting an angel or two," said Chairman Laura Toburen. "It is a way to bless a needy child this Christmas." For more information call the church office,706-678-7043.
