Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who may be reading my column. I wish all of you a wonderful day with family and friends. Let us all give thanks every day for what we have and not just on Thanksgiving Day. Some of the things I am most grateful for are my salvation, my family, my home, my friends, my country, my troops who are allowing me to be safe and secure, my church, my pastor, my community, and my pets -- just to name a few. .Ebenezer Baptist Church had a great day Sunday. Dr. Leonard Dupree's sermon was "And rid your mind of selfishgreed or the umbrella sin," taken from Exodus 20:17 or Luke 12:15-21 -- the last of the Ten Commandments Series 10. The children's story was "All Birds Welcome." Bird Life in Wignton 10. .Our visitors this week have been Shannon Thomason, Taylor McAvoy, Burt Newsome, and Sara Huff. Last week on Sunday, Trace Newsome and Tanner Barnett of Winterville visited. I visited my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace in Lincoln County, Sunday. .The Little River Methodist Charge held its annual conference Sunday afternoon at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. .Kenneth Shank of Atlanta visited his mother, Mrs. Dot Shank, Friday and Saturday. . Rick Newsome and daughter Jenna of Springfield, Va., visited his mother, Mrs. Jenelle Newsome, and his brother and sister-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Jim Newsome in Rayle. They all visited Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Newsome and Anna in Martinez. During the week, the Jamie Newsomes visited all. .Rebecca Phillips of Conyers is spending this week at home with her father, Richard Phillips, and Mrs. Phillips. Stephanie Haynes, Chip and Skyla of Washington also visited last week. .Pat Tuttle visited Mr. and Mrs. Hill O'Neal at Tyrone several days last week. Pat kept her grandson, Jacob Newsome, last weekend while his parents were out of town. Pat says they had a good time. Nothing like "grands" is it? .Aubrey Walker and her friend Heather of Athens spent Saturday with Mrs. Keith Standard and family. Sara Huff also visited Linda. .Tommy and Regina Dunnaway and Sara Huff visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway last week. Daniel Howard of North Carolina visited Alex Sunday.
.William Tuttle of Daleville, Ala., spent some time at the Tuttle homeplace recently. .Russell Goldman of Doraville spent the weekend with his mother, Sarah Huff. Linda Standard also visited her sister, Sarah. .Cassie and Bryson Taylor spent the weekend visiting relatives, and her mother, Deanne Johnson in Hull. .Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hensley on their marriage. She is the former Frances Saggus and is a nice person. I just wanted to wish them happiness and I know she will be missed at the Farmers and Merchants Bank by all her customers. They report a great trip. .Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Scroggs of Jefferson spent the weekend at their place in Aonia. They attended services at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday.
