I would like to wish a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday to all. May each of us praise God from whom all blessings flow. .Thanks to Dolores McAvoy for the beautiful flowers Sunday at Phillips Mill Baptist Church. They were placed in memory of her husband, Holice McAvoy, who was also an artist and son of the late James and Nellie Worthen McAvoy of Phillips Mill. .Thanks to all who took part in Phillips Mill Baptist Church's family and friends annual Thanksgiving meal held Sunday night. It was real nice. The fellowship hall was decorated pretty using fall colored leaves, flowers, and pumpkins. There was real good attendance with some third and fourth generations bringing favorite dishes of food to ham, turkey and dressing and iced tea. Pastor Robert Rayner asked the blessing for the bountiful meal. When everyone had finished eating, Bes Moore led the group in singing several Thanksgiving songs with Faye McAvoy at the piano. Then 10 people were given the opportunity to share what they were thankful for. Morrison Maxwell, oldest ordained deacon present, was called on to have the closing prayer. There were at least fivecouples present who have been married over 50 years, and one infant baby girl. What a blessing. .Remember. God loves you.
