Graveside services for Betty Webb Blackmon, 75, of Washington were held Saturday, November 17, 2007, in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Gale Seibert and Rev. Ryan Seawright officiating. She died Thursday, November 15, in the Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Augusta.

Mrs. Blackmon was a native of Elbert County and was the daughter of the late Pope Dalton Webb and Martha Thomas Bond Webb. She was a retired bank teller and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Washington where she had served as secretary for about 10 years. She was the widow of Thomas Cobb Blackmon.

Survivors include a son, Myron A. Blackmon, and his wife Ellen of Warwick; a daughter, Jane B. Callaway, and her husband Kenneth of Rayle; three sisters, Helen Norman, Virginia Oakley, and Hilna Reagin of Elberton; a brother, Maurice Webb of Cartersville; fivegrandchildren, Brandon Callaway, Will Callaway, Charlie Blackmon, Josh Callaway, and Katie Blackmon.

Pallbearers included Brandon Callaway, Josh Callaway, Alex Dunnaway, Will Callaway, Charlie Blackmon, and Jeremy Melton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
