W-W Little League planning meeting set Tues., Dec. 4
      The Washington-Wilkes Little League will be having the first planning meeting for next year's season on Tuesday, December 4, at 6 p.m. at the upstairs officeat Ashley Park. General planning for the 2008 season will be discussed as well as the election of officers.

Youth baskeball sign-up is now, deadline Dec. 1
      Registration for the Washington- Wilkes Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball 2008 Season will continue through December 1, 2007. No late signups will be accepted. Registration is at the W-WPRD Gym, 22 Lexington Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. All games will be played at the gym complex.

Multiple winners in annual Rotary golf tournament
      Even after a playoff round, the scores remained tied and two teams emerged as winners of the Washington Rotary Club's annual golf tournament held Thanksgiving weekend. Those claiming the cash prize included (top photo) Russell Maddox, Ben Payne, (at right) Charlie Jones, Carter Thompson, and Blake Thompson.

Top Tiger wrestlers finish high at Patriot Classic
      Three young Tiger wrestlers were among the top winners at the Junior Patriot Classic held at Oglethorpe County High School just before Thanksgiving on November 17. David Martin took first place in his weight class (135 pounds) as did Will Lawson at 145 pounds. Alex Hackney finished second in his class at 185 pounds.
