Brian George to be ordained at Fishing Creek Baptist Sun.

Brian George of Washington- Wilkes will ordained as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ Sunday afternoon, January 7, at the Fishing Creek Baptist Church in Wilkes County.

The Fishing Creek Church has received a request from Carter's Grove Baptist Church to ordain Mr. George. The Carter's Grove Church has extended a call to him to become pastor.

The ordination counsel will meet at 2 p.m., with the ordination following at 3 p.m. The ordination will be conducted by Rev. Roy Cates, pastor of the Fishing Creek Church; Rev. Albert Huyck, retired minister and former pastor of the candidate; and Rev. James Bland, Georgia Baptist Association Missionary.

All ordained ministers are invited to attend the counsel meeting and everyone is invited to attend the ordination service. There will be a reception following the service.

George is a native and lifelong resident of Washington-Wilkes and is married to the former Tara Turner of Danburg. They have two children, William and Amber. He is the son of Ed and Roberta George of Washington.

The candidate is an active member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church where he teaches Sunday School, is an ordained deacon, secretary of the board of deacons, and assistant church treasurer.
