Frances Wheelis Women on Mission group meets Jan. 8

The Frances Wheelis Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church met in the home of Susan Pope on Spring Street Monday evening, January 8.

Nancy Madden presided and Kay Nelms led the opening prayer. Members read the WMU Watchword.

A short business meeting was held and announcements included the H.E.A.R.T. Ministries Breakfast on February 3 at 10 a.m. at the Mission Center and WMU Focus Week February 12-18. It was also announced that March 4-11 is the Week of Prayer for North American Missions and emphasis on the Annie Armstrong Easter offering.

Mission action projects were discussed and planned.

Cheryl Edwards presented the program from "Mosaic" entitled "Obedient Servant" and led in prayer.

The missionary prayer calendar was led by Teresa Bishop who offered a prayer for the missionaries and those with special needs in the community.

Mrs. Pope served refreshments during a time of fellowship.

Attending with her were Gail Hunter, Louise McClearen, Nancy Madden, Julia Palmer, Kay Nelms, Teresa Bishop, Cheryl Edwards, Rosemary Hopkins, Elizabeth Pope and Melanie Wells.
