How was your first week of 2007? Fine, I hope. My week was busy and no real surprises. The weather is the main topic that everyone is discussing. ..We had a good day at church Sunday. Rev. Dupree is really a great preacher. Dinner was enjoyed after the sermon. ..I had dinner with my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace in Lincoln County, Sunday. My brother Garnett and sister Nan and her husband also visited. Late in the day I visited Mrs. Hal Shank and her caretaker, Peggy Mendricks. .. Sara Huff spent Tuesday and Wednesday with Mrs. Sharon Ellington in Augusta. .. Randy Goldman, Connie and Misty Johnson visited Sara Huff Saturday. Russell Goldman of Doraville spent Sunday with Mrs. Huff. ..Cassie Goldman and Bryson, and Mitch Taylor visited Deanne Johnson in Hull and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Johnson in Athens over the weekend. ..Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips, Stephanie Haynes, Chip and Skyla returned home Monday after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Steve Curie and Evan in Greensboro, N.C. They visited relatives in Zebulon, N.C., Chatham County, N.C. ..Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Newsome and Anna of Martinez spent New Year's Day with Mrs. Jenelle Newsome. ..Mrs. Florence Ingram returned home this week after visiting her son, Paul Ingram, in Mableton. ..Noah West spent Saturday with Roy Chesnut. ..Mr. and Mrs. Chris Standard and sons of Denah Springs, La., returned home after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard and other relatives. ..Peyton Standard of Augusta spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard. Other visitors were Russell Goldman of Doraville; Sarah Huff, Alex Dunaway, and Bobby Ansley Jr., having dinner with them on Sunday. ..Mrs. Nick Gaines and Tanner of Winterville spent Thursday with Mrs. Sherry Newsome. .. Bobbi Thornton visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway several times last week. .. Our prayer concerns include Elizabeth Dunnaway, Brian Henderson, Linda Albea, Leland Albea, Mrs. Bernice Hobby, Barry Bailey, Mrs. Ethel Harris, Mrs. Dot Shank, Mrs. Elizabeth Lindsey, Mrs. Lois South, Mrs. Pete Strother, Mrs. Willie Ruth Freeman, Mrs. Mona Hall, Wylie Dallas, Robert Gay, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace, Teresa Echols Bray, Hal Clubb, Milton Blackmon, Mrs. Jimmy Chapman and family (in the loss of her mother), the Moore family, Bill Mobley, Ed Burdette, Frank Moon, Claire Nelson, Shirley and Gary Haynie, Warren Newsome, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Nunn, Charles Bradford, the elderly, the youth, our churches and pastors, our friends and neighbors, our country, and our government. .. Mrs. Elaine Keen, Michael, Malissa, and children of Gainesville, Fla., spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gay during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Gay returned from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Clark in Lakeland, Fla., last week. ..Have a good week. Remember to go to the church of your choice.
