Jillian Wells entertained at Christmas shower January 6 Jillian Wells, bride-elect of Adam Adrews, was guest of honor at a Christmas shower on Saturday, January 6, at the home of Nancy Barnett on Sims Street. Hostesses with Mrs. Barnett were Rebecca Deweese of Athens, Leigh Oxendine of Augusta, Paige Eason and Jessica Eason of Macon, Rebecca Pollock, Alicia Deweese, Carol Bailey, Angela McGill and Laura Leard of Washington. For the occasion Miss Wells wore black slacks and a lavender sweater. She was presented a corsage of Christmas ornaments and greenery. A holiday theme was used in decorating and guests immediately were filled with the holiday spirit by the welcoming lighted Christmas tree placed by the front door. Guests signed the bride's book in the foyer where the table held a beautiful arrangement of red roses, hypericum berries and Christmas greens. A trio of wrought iron candleholders in varying heights held hurricane globes with pillar candles. Another festively-decorated Christmas tree decorated the den and candles filled the house. In the game room a table covered in a Lenox holiday green sateen cloth held a beautiful arrangement of red roses, greenery, candles, red berries and Christmas accents. From the table guests enjoyed sausage wraps, ham biscuits, sausage balls, cheese ring with strawberry jam, lemon tarts, toasted pecans, miniature cinnamon rolls, cheese straws and fruit and cheese hors d'oeuvres from crystal appointments. Punch from a lead crystal punch bowl, coffee and water were enjoyed from the bar area. An ecru cloth and Christmas runner accented the dining table that held a display of the lovely gifts. Also displayed was the hostess gift, a matching Christmas quilt and table runner.
Seventy guests were invited. Among the special guests and outof town guests attending were the bride-elect's mother, Vonice Wells of Washington; her grandmother, Margaret Johnson, aunt, Beverly Johnson III and cousin, April Smiley, all of Ludowici; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Cherry Andrews of Washington; his sister and niece, Julie Evans and Madison of North Augusta, S.C.; Jessica Coxwell and Lizzie Newsome of Athens; Catherine Holloway of Lincolnton; Daisy Thornton of Statesboro; and Kim Moore of Crawfordville.
