Josephine Orr guest of honor at party in Athens

Josephine Marie Wilson Orr of Athens, formerly of Rayle, celebrated her 75th birthday on Friday, December 22, with her daughters, Marie Orr Tyler of Snellville and Kate Orr Messer of Roswell, and residents and staff of Whispering Pines in Athens where she resides.

In honor of the occasion Mrs. Orr was presented a corsage of pink spray roses, fern fronds and gypsophila to complement her ensemble that included a black button cardigan adorned with red cardinals in branches design over a white turtleneck.

The party table held a tablecloth, plates, cups and napkins in a pink hydrangea design on a mint green background. Pink spray roses, snapdragons and Alstroemeria lilies pine and fern in an oblong design centered the table.

Guests enjoyed cranberry punch with a fruit bowl of fresh cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon balls, blueberries and strawberries, a platter of fresh vegetables with accompanying dip, cheese wafers, assorted olives, tea sandwiches of chicken salad, pimento cheese and cream cheese, nuts, and mints.

Her birthday cake was shaped as a gift box with pink butter cream frosting and a white fondant ribbon. A white fondant shaped gift tag featured "Happy Birthday Josephine" in pink icing.
