Wilkes Cattlemen's Association will hold front pasture replacement sale on Jan. 27

The Wilkes County Cattlemen's Association will have a front pasture commercial replacement female cattle sale on Saturday, January 27, beginning at 12 p.m., at the Wilkes County Stockyard, Washington.

Sales manager and auctioneer for the event is Mike Jones. David Reville, a member of the Wilkes County Cattlemen's Association, is sale chairman and can be reached at 706-318-5457 for more information.

There will be a free supper for those participating on Friday, January 26, at 7 p.m., at the Wilkes County Stockyard.

Wilkes County Cattlemen again this year have put together an excellent set of replacement commercial females," says Sales Manager Jones. "The cattle will sell in uniform pens of two and three head as in the past. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire high quality females who are under top management and health programs. An added bonus this year is a top offering of performance tested bulls that have been on an organized testing program at the Terry Chandler Farm near Danielsville," Jones said.

A yearling open heifer donated by the Thomas Saxon family will be auctioned at the Sale with the proeeds going to Steer Power Inc. The heifer is a January 2006 female sired by an Angus bull out of an Angus cow produced in the Wakefield herd.
