We had another good day at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday. Dr. Dupree's sermon was from Luke. After the worship service we had conference and that went well. Our budget and church officers and leaders were voted on and approved. Our homebound member for January is Mrs. Ethel Harris who now lives at Wilkes Health Care Center. Go by to see her or send her a card. ..Happy birthday to all who are celebrating January birthdays. ..Kenneth Shank of Atlanta visited his mother, Mrs. Hal Shank, Friday. I visited Miss Dot last week. She is doing about the same. ..Mrs. Mabel Johnson visited Mrs. Jenelle Newsome last week. ..Peyton Standard of Augusta spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard. Alex Dunaway also visited the Standards. ..Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips spent Friday in Commerce. ..I visited my parents last week and also had doctors appointments in Augusta. I visited my friend, Mrs. Carol Dragon, and family while in Augusta Tuesday. ..Our prayer concerns include Mrs. Willie Ruth Freeman, Mrs. Jimmie Benton, Henry N. Wallace, Billy Gunter, Mrs. Pete Strother, Mrs. Lois South, Mrs. Dot Shank, Mrs. Ethel Harris, Miss Grace Dunaway, Teresa Echols Bray, Jenelle Newsome, Warren Newsome, Wylie Dallas, Mike Webb, Michelle Smith Walker and family, Linda Albea, Mrs. Hamilton (Linda's mother), Leland Albea, Billy Niemann, Deanne Niemann Thomson, Charles Bradford, Rev. Vaughn, Mrs. Gussie McAvoy, and Mrs. Helen Hodgson. ..A lovely baby shower was given for Genna Albea Grimaud by friends at Ebenezer Baptist Church Saturday. There were many guests, out of town guests also. I attended and had a nice time. Genna received many lovely and useful gifts. This baby is supposed to be a little girl - Clint and Linda Albea's first grandchild. ..A group from Ebenezer Baptist Church went to Augusta Sunday evening to see a movie, "Facing the Giants." I believe this movie was filmed in Valdosta. Go see it if you have an opportunity to do so. ..How about that young kid robbing Farmers and Merchants Bank in Lincolnton. What is this world coming to. His getaway vehicle was his bicycle. Can you imagine?
..Sincere sympathy to all who recently lost loved ones. Our hearts and our prayers go out to you. ..Our children visited us during the week last week. ..Enjoy your week. The weather is supposed to be nice several days, maybe some rain and colder later in the week, at night and early morning. Some of it should please everyone. ..Our dog Henry, a mixed Husky- Chow, goes to church with me on Sundays and at other times. He was patiently waiting on me to go home Sunday after waiting an extra hour because of our conference. If you will notice, he has a path from our yard to Ebenezer. He's about 14 years old and a faithful pet. We call him Ebenezer's mascot. It's nice to have such a faithful pet.
