Mary C. Reid Women on Mission members meet January 2 at FBC

The Mary C. Reid Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church met Tuesday morning, January 2, in the Conference Room.

Mrs. Dennis Hopkins presided and welcomed Mrs. Lynwood Cofer into the membership. Mrs. Hopkins led the reading of the WMU Watchword, continued the opening by reading an article written by Rev. James Bland in "The Baptist Window" and led in prayer.

Mrs. Eugene Pollock offered a prayer for those with special needs.

After the business meeting, Mrs. Hopkins read the missionary prayer calendar and prayed for the mission- aries.

Mrs. Pollock presented the program, "Angel in Scrubs," taken from "Mosaic" describing how a Hmong girl from Laos came to Atlanta in l979, was aided by a church there, became a Christian and is now an oncology nurse ministering to patients and their families at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

Mrs. Mary Ann Bentley closed the meeting with prayer.

Members present were Mrs. Mary Ann Bentley, Mrs. Joe Harris, Mrs. Dennis Hopkins, Mrs. Gene Pollock, Mrs. Charles Reese and Mrs. Lynwood Cofer.
