Carol Carraco guest speaker at NSDAR meeting January 15
Mrs. Carraco, introduced by Betty Slaton, grew up in Oconee County and received her bachelor, masters and doctorate degrees from the University of Georgia. She is Professor of History at Western Kentucky State University. Mrs. Carraco gave an illustrated talk on "Women Who Made a Difference in Early Georgia." Her presentation centered on Mary Musgrove, Nancy Morgan Hart and Catharine Littlefield Greene. Prior to her presentation Joanne Pollock, regent, presided. During the business meeting following the guest speaker, Marian Thorpe read the National Defense Message, the Native Indian Minute was given by Anna Gunter, and the Constitutional Minute by Nancy Sisson. Other organization business was conducted. Mrs. Pollock reported on the up- coming State Convention in Savannah March 12-14 and on the plans for the Kettle Creek celebration.
