Genna Grimaud entertained at drop-in baby shower Jan. 13

Genna Grimaud was entertained at a drop-in baby shower on Saturday, January 13, given by Jane Hudson, Sherry Hudson, Phyllis Marett, Lois Poss, and Rena Strickland in the fellowship hall of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

In honor of the occasion Mrs. Grimaud and her mother, Linda Albea, were presented corsages of pink roses.

The massive buffet held a delectable assortment of party foods and refreshing punch served from a crystal punch bowl surrounded by smilax and springs of Leyland cypress. Camellia blossoms were nestled among the greenery. A silver tiered dessert server held a lovely floral arrangement. The lower tier featured layers of floating camellia blooms in shades of pink, rose and peppermint while the top tiers held icy, silvered fruit tipped in rose and its trumpet vase held an arrangement of camellias accented with a silver pear in the center with three princess wands with flowing ribbons in pastel iridescent colors. Tea lights and a pillar candle in a crystal lotus placed on beveled mirrors created ambient lighting.

A circular side table was draped in a white striped tone-on-tone cloth. Centering the table on a mirrored plateau was a charming arrangement of pink camellias, gypsophila and greenery in a silver teapot with a tilted lid and a graceful antique-finished silver angel. Crystal votives and greenery complemented the floral designs created by Gloria Rhodes.

A focal point of the hall was a delightful handcrafted rocking horse and a white bassinet filled with and surrounded by an array of delightful and functional gifts.

The hostesses presented the mother-to-be a gift certificate.

Approximately 75 guests were invited and each guest recorded advice to Mrs. Grimaud in a book for future reference.
