Clark tells Baptists of new Penfield history for sale Priscilla Maxwell represented Phillips Mill Baptist Church at the Executive Committee Meeting of the Georgia Baptist Association on Tuesday night, January 23. Attendance was somewhat off for various reasons. Rev. Norman Waldrip called the meeting to order. The annual spring and fall meetings was one of the items discussed with the question being brought up as to how the time might be arranged to suit more people. It seems that regardless of the time, it's hard to tell much difference. Getting together at annual meetings is not just for retired senior citi- zens who have been a part of the backbone of the Association. But the importance of younger men and women to become a part also. Everyone of the Association is important and invited to take part. Rev. Lem Clark, the administrator of Penfield Christian Home, was in the attendance. He gave a report on Penfield Home and also presented a new book recently published by the home and titled, "Penfield Christian Home, A Ministry Dedicated to Reclaiming the Lives of Men Addicted to Drugs and Alcohol." It was written by the late Waldo P. Harris III of Wilkes County and produced by our own Wilkes Publishing Co. in Washington. The book is now for sale for $25.00 which covers printing costs and is dedicated with respect and admiration to men and women who have served faithfully through the years on the Penfield Christian Home Board of Directors and have made both the home and the book possible. Rev. Clark is a former pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church in Greene County. His work at Penfield began in 1996 when he became the acting administrator. He was born July 13, 1940, in Florida and has lots to share with love and understanding. The book starts off with the beginning of Mercer University at Penfield. It can be a priceless book written with love and concern.
