Washington DDA Attends Training
Members of the Washington Downtown Development Authority attended the Basic Downtown Development Authority Training Program in Atlanta recently. This full-day training session assures that Authority members have a common background in the operation of an Authority and how the Authority can benefit the community.Sessions included legal issues, member responsibilities, funding sources, best practices from across Georgia, ethics, and public-private partnerships.Pam Eaton, Chairman of the Washington DDA notes "Our Downtown Development Authority is one of the few in Georgia to have every member to undertake this training. I'd like to thank our members for taking an entire Saturday so that they are better prepared to serve the City of Washington." Mac Brown, a facilitator at the training, met with development authority members during the session. He has since visited Washington on January 29th to discuss development opportunities.
