Frances Wheelis Women on Mission group meets at Madden home Feb. 5

Nancy Madden was hostess for the meeting of the Frances Wheelis Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church at her home on Monday evening, February 5.

Mrs. Madden presided and Gail Stewart offered the opening prayer. Members read the WMU Watchword.

Numerous announcements included the salad luncheon on February 17 at which time Martha Stone would present her angel pin ministry. This is a part of WMU Focus Week February 11-18.

Several mission action projects were discussed and plans were finalized for the Valentine party at Wilkes Health Care on February 14.

Kay Nelms presented the program on last frontier missionaries and the challenges they face in spreading the gospel in countries where this is not welcome.

Susan Pope led the missionary prayer calendar and offered the prayer for missionaries and those with special needs in the community.

Mrs. Madden served delicious refreshments during a time of fellowship.

Present with Mrs. Madden were Ann Tiller, Gail Stewart, Kay Nelms, Rosemary Hopkins, Cheryl Edwards, Julia Palmer, Elizabeth Pope, Louise McClearen and Susan Pope.
