Bowman is Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week for the 3rd time

TYREKUS BOWMAN GOES HIGH FOR A SHOT The junior Jaguar had his fourth straight double-double Saturday.
Continuing his domination on the basketball court, Augusta State University's Tyrekus Bowman last week was the first Jaguar ever to be named Player of the Week for the Peach Belt Conference three times in one season. He is also the only player in the conference to earn the distinction this year.

Going into last Saturday's game against the Lander Bearcats, Bowman was averaging 19 points per game, 11 rebounds per game, three steals, and 2.5 blocks per game. It was his play against Georgia College and State University and Francis Marion University that earned him his third POW honor.

At GCSU, he posted 23 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks for his third double-double of the season. He then backed that up with 15 pionts, 11 boards, and four steals at FMU. He shot 51.7 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the line for the week.

Bowman currently leads the Peach Belt Conference in scoring and is sixth in the league in rebounding and field goal percentage. He is third in steals and fifth in blocked shots. He is also ranked 30th nationally in points per game.

Against Lander last Saturday, Bowman had 11 pionts, 11 boards, and three blocked shots. The Jaguars went on to beat the Bearcats 84-70 at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
