Global warming
By GARY TOOLE
So many are concerned about global warming and they should be, but some are concerned only from an economical standpoint.

I heard that many were concerned in the snow ski areas of the country that by the year 2050 they would be out of business. The global warming would have raised the earth's temperature so much that there would be no snow because it would all melt quickly.

Of course, some folks rich enough would bring in a snow machine to make some for them. Years ago when it was so dry, many said, "Let's pray for rain," and they did. Many times it rained and they gave God all the glory. One church gathered to pray for rain and the preacher sent them back home and said that they were not ready. He did that twice and they got tired of it and asked, "Now, preacher, when are we going to pray for rain?" And he said, "When one of y'all brings an umbrella!" He wanted to see faith in action.

Anyway, later on some said, "Oh well, we can't wait on God," so they started using irrigation and they got a lot of flack from that.

Getting back to global warming. They are trying to implement many things that will head off this warming effect. Slow it down. Reduce it. Stop it. Who knows! All I know is this. The word of God says that in the end time the sun would become so hot that it will scorch men's flesh and the amazing thing is that it says they will still not repent, but will curse God.

I know we don't want to hear that. That's just scary. It is, and it beckons all to repent before it's too late. We can do all we can to help this environment and we should. After all, God put us down here as caretakers over this earth and as one fellow said, "So many times we have done a lousy job of it." But the main thing is this: we need to keep evermore in our mind and heart that God is still in charge. He's still in control and we need to look to Him.

Look to the hills, from whence cometh our help; our help comes from the Lord as the psalm says.
