The Gideon speaker at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church Sunday was Waymon Bryan of Madison. He is a member of the Morgan-Greene County Gideon Camp. He was very good and told stories about how the little New Testaments they give out have helped so many people and also they place Bibles in hotels, motels, hospitals, and other places. ..The pastor appreciation banquet held at the Washington First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall given by the Gideons Friday night was very successful. Many churches in the area were represented. Rev. and Mrs. O'Neil Martin attended the banquet. Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance also attended. ..Mrs. John Gill of Lavonia and her brother, Vernon Hopkins, visited me briefly Monday afternoon. ..Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer went to Danielsville Tuesday to see Mrs. Sue Harwell McCarty. She grew up in Carlton. The Harwells and the Sherrer family were good friends. We enjoyed our visit with her. We also visited Mrs. Louise Glenn and Don Glenn in Carlton. After their doctors' appointments in Augusta Monday they visited Henry Dorisen who is a patient in University Hospital. ..After prayer meeting Wednesday night, Mr. and Mrs. Coryer Poss and Mrs. James Sherrer visited Mrs. Evans Davis and enjoyed coffee and doughnuts. ..Mrs. Gay Branham, Whitney and Charlie, spent Friday night and Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mitchell, Nick and Kristen, in Cleveland, Ga. ..Mr. and Mrs. Scott Blaine of Dahlonega spent the weekend in their mobile home. They visited Mrs. Evans Davis Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Virginia Witcraft of Raytown also visited her one afternoon.
