We heard a good sermon at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday. Rev. James M. Newsome of Vero Beach, Fla., was our visiting minister. I think he delivered an excellent sermon. I'm sure God has bigger and better things for Jimmy as he seeks God's will for his life. His mother, Jenelle Newsome, and wife Karan, were unable to attend because his mother became ill before church. .. I was sad to hear of Charlie Norwood's death. He was a good Christian man and will be missed. ..I had a pretty good week. On Sunday afternoon I visited my parents in Lincoln County and had lunch with them. My sister Nan and her husband Mickey of McCormick, S.C., joined us. G.B. has had the flu for several days. He has not been a happy camper. ..Sincere sympathy to all who recently lost loved ones. ..Rebecca Phillips of Conyers arrived Friday to spend winter break with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips visited in Augusta Thursday. On Saturday they, along with Rebecca, enjoyed lunch in Thomson. ..Russell Goldman of Doraville visited Mrs. Sara Huff Sunday. Linda Standard also visited. ..Peyton Standard of Augusta spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard. .. Cassie Goldman, Bryson, and Mitch Taylor spent the weekend with Deanne Johnson in Hull and also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Fields in Oglethorpe County. .. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Calley, are camping near Dillard this week. ..Miss Betty Moore visited her sister, Mrs. Barbara Adams, and Tiffany Rogers this week. ..Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bentley joined Jack Bentley and Becky Richards for lunch Sunday. .. Bobbi Thornton visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway the past week. .. Happy birthday to Kaley Roberson and to my mother, Blanche Henderson Wallace, on February 20. Mother will celebrate her 85th. ..Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips attended the Woman's Club Valentine Banquet last week. .. Our prayer concerns include Mildred Bufford, Jenelle Newsome, Kristy Lindsey Rose, Mitch Taylor, Gradee Redfern, Virginia Ledbetter, Wade Palmer, Wayne Lee, James Lee, Wylie Dallas, George Hale, Dot Shank, Linda Albea, Lois South, Pete Strother, Ethel Harris, Ed Burdette, Mr. and Mrs. Dan McAvoy, Tommy Wheatley, Chris McAvoy, Henry Wallace, Frances Shank, Willie Ruth Freeman, Dorie Reed, Grady Reed, Mary Earnest, Ebenezer's Search Committee, Charles Blakley, Hal Johnson, Brenda Johnson, Gary Rogers, Barry Bailey, Burnice Hobby, Carla Brown, Sanders and Elizabeth Dallis, Mrs. Maurice Spires, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Partridge, Jimmy Benton, the family of Elizabeth and Olin Lindsey, the family of Charlie Norwood, Grace Dunaway, Libby Ivey, Frank and Frances Moon, Lois Holliday, Shirley and Gary Haynie, the President, our elected and appointed officials, local, state, and nation, our churches, our elderly, our youth, our friends, our enemies, and our troops. ..Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bentley attended the Georgia Milk Convention at St. Simons Island for several days last week. They enjoyed staying at the King and Prince Hotel. The Bentleys enjoyed visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Barnett and Cassidy in Washington to help Jamie celebrate his birthday last week. ..Have a good week and remember the love of God.
