Amy Lannae, attendants guests of honor at bridal luncheon Jan. 26 Ribbon-tied invitations of copper, silver and ebony honoring Amy Dennis Lannae and her bridal attendants were issued that set the tone for an elegant luncheon hosted by Mrs. Edwin Drinkard of Watkinsville, Mrs. O. A. Denard and Mrs. R. T. Lindsey on Washington Friday, January 26, at the Lindsey home in Washington. For the lovely occasion the brideelect chose a black cashmere peplum jacket and winter white tailored pants. As guests arrived on the front porch, they signed the guest book nestled among greenery, candles, and copper, silver and ebony ribbon on a table covered with a beautiful cloth that had belonged to Mrs. Audrey Jones, mother of hostess, Mrs. Lindsey. Nannie, as Mrs. Jones was called by many, was special to the bride-elect. Also on the porch was the bride-elect's new monogram framed with roses and camellia leaves. The entryway held a magnificent arrangement of green Jade and white Virginia roses, white Hibernia tulips, green dendrobium Burana orchids, white Phalaenopsis orchids, white Mona Lisa anemone, white stock and camellia leaves in a large silver epergne. Arrangements of the same flowers were used throughout the home and on the dining tables. Candlelight in each room contributed to the special ambiance. Guests were invited into the den to a selection of tea, lemonade, pomegranate mimosas and "Jerry's Famous Cheese Ring". Places were set at tables in the dining room, music room and living room for the bridal party and special guests. Each table was covered in ebony linen and overlaid with hand-embroidered sheer copper cloths. Silver containers held floral designs. Seats for the brideelect and her bridesmaids were embellished with ribbon and fabric tied on the back of each chair. Each guest's place was marked with her name in calligraphy and framed in silver. These were favors for each guest. The hostesses lovingly prepared a menu of hot chicken salad in pastry timbales, fresh fruit, broccoli casserole, stuffed potatoes, mini-cheese biscuits and cheesecakes, all favorites of Miss Lannae. After dining Miss Lannae individually thanked each guest and hostess and elaborated on the significance of each in her life. She also took this opportunity to present gifts of handcrafted three-strand seed pearls necklaces for the wedding and musical CD's with special songs by Hillary Lindsey, to her bridesmaids. The flower girl and junior attendant were given pearl bracelets and books. The bride-elect presented her hostesses thank you gifts of sterling ice scoops. The bride-elect and her bridesmaids enjoyed making ribbon bouquets from ribbon collected from shower and wedding gifts to be used at the rehearsal.
In addition to Miss Lannae and the hostesses, attending were Mrs. Russell Rainey of Evans, Mrs. James Meech and Mary Ellen Lindsey of Washington, Mrs. Mark Weed of Rome, Hillary Lee Lindsey of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. Brian Blount and Mrs. Bryan Lamb, of Austin, Tex., Mrs. Rodney Fowler of Statesboro, Taylor Harris Lindsey, Marymargaret McKay Brown, Jeanette Parker Brown, Mrs. J.B.
